Simple fixes to common problems when setting up your Marlin Camper
Door won’t close or tent doesn’t look straight.
The most common mistake causing these 2 issues is the position of the two corners closest to the trailer.
When you are pegging out the corners of the tent floor, the trailer side needs to be as straight as you can get it from the corner of the timber base to the corner of the floor (below picture on the right). When the peg is in the wrong position (below picture on the Left) you will have issues using the door zipper on the bottom corner, as well as a causing the tent to lean to one side.
A Straight floor is your best chance of getting a straight tent.

Floor doesn’t touch the ground.
The extra height of the Extreme Off-Road trailer raises the tent 50mm beyond its ideal height of 1070mm.
This means that the floor of the tent closest to the trailer is slightly higher than the ground. This is perfectly normal and the reason why we have the Peg rings attached via a spacer to the tent. Depending on the surface your trailer sits on, I find that most of the time the trailer weight will sink into the earth. I find this to happen mostly when I’m bush camping as opposed to staying in Caravan Parks where the ground is more compact.
